Eva Epker
MBA Candidate
Kellogg School of Management
Prior: Avestria Ventures, Hearth Financing, and PetSmart Home Office
Undergraduate: Stanford University
Biography
After graduating from Stanford University with Honors in English and with minors in History and Art History, I went to Phoenix, Arizona; my first post-grad job was as a Merchandise Fulfillment Inventory Analyst at the PetSmart Home Office. While my focus was on merchandise allocation and strategy, I also learned about financial planning and copywriting, even taking on stretch projects with the PetSmart's in-house copywriting team.
When two friends pulled me back to the San Francisco Bay Area for a Growth Marketing role focused on a content at a SaaS startup called Shogun Enterprises (DBA Hearth Financing), I doubled down in marketing, especially copywriting and content marketing. In September 2019, I joined Avestria Ventures as its Director of Marketing, responsible for marketing logistics, events, and materials, including articles, conference applications, investment memos, pitch-decks, and all original marketing content. I've been at Avestria since.
I attended The Winsor School in Boston, MA for high school, have kept a daily journal for 16+ years, and have experience in branding (Lexicon Branding Creative Intern, 2016) and business (Summer Institute of General Management student at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, 2015).

Excerpts
Articles about women's health usually start the same way: an otherwise perfectly healthy woman is in pain. After several visits and tests, her (typically male) doctors can't find the cause.
Later, the woman learns that she has polycystic ovary syndrome, endometriosis, or maybe she even had a heart attack. But symptoms, diagnoses, and treatments that are idiosyncratic to women are often regarded as exceptions to the norm — leaving women's health unstudied and underfunded.
If a personal loan is the right fit for your clients, Hearth can help you offer options and close the deal. The process is simple and straightforward -- perfect for contractors and clients who want a no-frills financing option.
